I am doing these cats because I am working out some character studies for a set of book illustrations I want to do for a story I have.

Another little kitty

One of the other things the cats do which I find amusing is sleep grooming. Like one will be curled up, and suddenly start cleaning whatever is handy, even if it's another cat or their paw.


So today, here is a little illustration of that

Orange Kitty

Today we had an orange kitty sleep attack, toys were pounced out of the toy box after much digging and hunting, dragged over to little sunlit patches of living room floor, and promptly fell asleep at.

(It is possible to fall asleep at something, but only cats can do it right.)

Okay so, the other night...

I could not get to sleep. After trying unsuccessfully to go to sleep for the better part of the night, I was watching some old SNL from the 70's on DVD, and kind of doodling away. Then this happened. So it's

sort of a 70's inspired energy-sink of a doodle to try and clear my head so I could get to sleep. Not the best inspiration for something, but they can't all be the Pietà.

This "Thing" refused to be called anything else. I've been sitting here for 3 days now trying to come up with a better name for it and failing. It wants to be called "Thing" and I am gonna go with that.

Sunburst

I really liked the way the bookmark I did yesterday turned out, especially the way the sun looked when I was done. So I decided to do an ACEO of just the Sun.

Today's Daily Painting "Evening Storm"

So after a couple of days of weirdly warm weather, we are finally enjoying a lovely rainstorm. The clouds were rolling in last night, and while I was unable to see the moon from the window last and it was mostly full, this is what came to mind.
